Love Your “Job” Nonsense

How many times have you heard this?
“If you find your passion, you will never work again”
“The only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work”
“Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life”
“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love"
"Don't make money your goal"
“Take pride in your work”
Many more like this…

While all of this sounds so flashy and wonderful to read, here’s what I have to ask:
What would happen if the trash cleaner didn’t turn up
What would happen if the toilet cleaner doesn’t turn up for 2 weeks
What about the uncle and aunty who clean the tables in the coffee shops
The thousands of construction workers who build the place we are in
What about that Electrician who needs to repair the washing machine or aircon
What would happen if the bus / train captain decided it’s not his day
How about our brave soldiers on the borders
What about the traffic police, doctors, nurses, surgeons
You see the point? These are the great people who day in day out, turn up with no excuse, not thinking about career paths, promotions, capabilities matching their skills. For whatever reason, they chose the job, sometimes due to compulsions. Seeing them, empowers me to live up, stop complaining, do something to improve their lives. Sometimes, work just has to be done and we are better equipped at this moment… Read again - I said “At this moment”, for no one knows what lies ahead.
The next time you step into your house - thank the hands that built it
The next time you enter a coffee shop - Spend 10 bucks and buy those cleaners a drink
Don’t just leave the tips on the table - Carry an envelope and hand it over personally to the person who took care of you!
The next time you touch your food - Bless the hands that sowed the seeds, the family that distributed it, the hands that cooked them for you, Just makes the food tastier
The next time you pay anything - Bless the money, so it fulfills the life that it touches. It may not be much, but for someone starving, 1 pack of food is heaven
Make these people feel like they belong, talk to them, wish them a hello or a good morning, smile at them…
There is no good or bad job, there is just a job Good or Bad is defined by the person doing it.
