Curiosity declines over time…

Recent research on 250 people who had started a new job found their levels of curiosity declined more than 20% in their first 6 months; they had become too busy to ask questions!

We don’t need a research to prove this. Let’s take our own lives for example, or if we are parents and have watched our kids grow, we would have seen how curious they were and how the questions stopped year after year.

What can be done about this decline?

  1. Time out… with so many stimuli bombarding us, silencing the eyes and ears is a must. 10 mins… just 10 mins of simply sitting, doing nothing, seeing nothing, hearing nothing, can wake up the curious parts of the brain

  2. Whatif channels on youtube asks questions which we generally don’t know about. Is interesting stuff

  3. Watch how a particular item is manufactured. Ex. Chocolates, cars, cycles etc.

  4. Silent nature walks…

This is a no brainer. Curiosity and creativity grow in Silence.
